Wow, this has been an absolutely crazy journey these past 6 months!!! Going through the process of tinkering with business ideas, settling on a direction, then research...more research and execution. Building a business is no joke, and doing so with little to no funding is even more fun or painful, which ever you prefer. But here we are at MY Store Front.
Again Welcome to my Hood!
Business name was always an interesting one, as I have been playing with the idea for many many years. We all dream of working for ourselves, but reality sets in and most of us continue with the same old grind. While I did not build this biz to replace my current day job, although it would be nice, I did this to find a creative outlet for all the pent up creativity in my head for so long. While I am a security engineer by trade, that is not really a creative-based job. You can find creative ways to solve issues, but its not the same type of creativity has making something with your hands. Back to biz name, this is based on domains I have owned for years, almost 20 to be exact. I thought the name was fitting as I enjoy the neighborHOOD I am in, and I love HAXing or hacking things to find out how they work or fix things. There ya go, HoodHax origin story.
Why Paracord you ask? Well I love being creative and making things by hand. I grew up with a very creative family, like my mother who has always been a painter, weaver, doodler etc. and my grandfather whom was also a painter, photographer, carpenter etc. So its in the genes. Building this site and store, I think I got a ton of creativity options here with building my products, coding and designing the website and everything else. I also grew up going through boy scouts, and wrapped up scouts when I became an Eagle Scout around high school. Just wasn't for me anymore, but part of scouting is being prepared and learning skills for basic survival which included learning knots. So this has always stuck with me, and why I picked up paracord-ing so easily.
Anyways enough origin story and go enjoy the shop and products!
I try and get materials sourced and made here in the USA, which all of our paracord materials are. However some hardware is very difficult to find, locate, source, purchase that is made in USA without being a wholesaler myself as a start-up, can't quite afford some of the minimum-order-quanties to get those Made In USA products yet. As we grow the biz and mature our products and settle on suppliers and such, quality is always going to improve and get better. Quality is our focus as well as helping you solve your every day problems with our paracord products, or improve your Every Day Carry (EDC) gear.
